About Marie

It started in a Derry café, with a sausage roll and a quiet doubt.

The story

I was sat with a few of the girls from my HND course. Every one of them seemed to have their life mapped out, and I hadn't a notion where mine was going. As a young girl I'd wanted to be an archaeologist, digging up hidden treasure from the past, but that dream had long gone quiet. I knew I was meant for more. I just couldn't have told you what more looked like. Then somebody mentioned social work, and the more I read about it the clearer it got. Helping people. That was it.

That's where the work started. Over the next twenty years I worked in addictions and mental health across England and back home in Ireland, from substance misuse services and the charity sector to the NHS and a mental health hospital, where it was firefighting from the minute you walked in the door.

Somewhere in the middle of all that, I trained as a life coach, and it gave me the words for what I'd been seeing all along. People aren't broken. They have the answers already. They've just got lost somewhere along the road, and my job is to help them find the way back.

That's the work I do now. I coach business owners, leaders and professionals who've got to the stage where it isn't strategy holding them back any more. It's themselves. Maybe you're the one everybody leans on, and nobody thinks to ask how you're doing. Maybe the glass of wine that used to be a Friday treat is now most nights. Maybe you're doing well on paper and still lying awake at 3am going over the same conversation. None of that means something is wrong with you. It means you've been running on empty for a long time and calling it normal.

I also work with organisations. That might be private one to one coaching with CEOs and senior leaders, delivering my programme to whole teams, or training HR staff so they can spot when someone is struggling and know how to support them. If you're looking at the wellbeing of your people, you can find out more on my Working with Organisations page.

In 2025 my husband had a brain haemorrhage. I found out the hard way that the work I teach is the work I lean on myself. I've been through my own storm, and I'm still standing.

I didn't pick this up on a weekend course. It's twenty years inside rooms most coaches have never set foot in. I'm regulated and registered, and I'm still training. People trust me when they're at their lowest, and I don't take that lightly.

My values

There's more to me than what's on the CV.

The letters after my name matter, but they're not the whole picture. I'm a wife, and a mum to three brilliant girls. I'm a daughter and a sister, and I keep family close. These are my top five values, in order. When I live by them, life goes a lot smoother.

  1. Compassion
  2. Family
  3. Joy
  4. Wholeness
  5. Connection
